YouTube ReVanced: The App That Removes YouTube Ads and Unnecessary Buttons – Full Installation Guide
YouTube ReVanced is an Android-only app that lets you remove all YouTube ads and unnecessary buttons from the interface. While it only works on Android, you can install it for free without using a PC—just your smartphone.
This page explains how to install both YouTube ReVanced and ReVanced Extended, an enhanced version of the app with additional features. Unless you have a specific reason not to, I recommend using ReVanced Extended.
YouTube ReVanced
Installation Overview
The installation process involves applying “patches” to the YouTube app using a tool called ReVanced Manager. I’ll walk you through each step.
What You’ll Need to Download
You’ll need to install the following three apps:
◆ GmsCore
Required for YouTube ReVanced to function properly.
◆ ReVanced Manager
Used to apply patches (like ad skipping) to the YouTube app.
◆ YouTube APK
Downloaded from APKMirror instead of the Google Play Store.
Installing GmsCore
Go to the following URL:
Tap on the section marked “v… (Latest)”.
Under “Default,” tap Download. If you’re using a Huawei or Xiaomi device, use the download link under “Huawei, Xiaomi” instead.
Once the APK finishes downloading, tap Open, then Install.
Installing ReVanced Manager
Visit:
Tap the download icon to get the APK. Once downloaded, install the app.
Open ReVanced Manager and tap OK when the next prompt appears.
Downloading the YouTube APK
In ReVanced Manager, go to Patcher > Select an application.
Find YouTube and note the Suggested version number.
Visit:
Find and tap the version that matches the suggested number (e.g., YouTube 19.43.41).
If not immediately visible, tap See more uploads…
Scroll down and tap the version labeled APK.
Tap DOWNLOAD APK. You don’t need to install it yet.
Installing YouTube ReVanced
Back in ReVanced Manager, go to Patcher > Select an application.
This time, tap Storage.
Select the YouTube APK you just downloaded.
Tap Patch and wait for the process to finish.
Tap Install when prompted. You’re done! YouTube ReVanced blocks all ads by default, so you can enjoy an ad-free experience right away.
ReVanced Extended
ReVanced Extended is an advanced version of YouTube ReVanced, offering additional features.
If you experience playback issues or want extra features, consider installing this version instead.
How to Install ReVanced Extended
Follow the same steps outlined above for Installing GmsCore.
Download RVX Manager from:
Tap the section labeled “v… (Latest)”.
Tap on the latest release (e.g., rvx-manager-v…) to download and install it.
RVX Manager works exactly like ReVanced Manager. From here, simply follow the same steps as above starting from “Downloading the YouTube APK.”
